Islamic Aggression: Jewish Complacency
American Jewry as compared to earlier generations has turned indifferent to the fate of Israel and to themselves as well. No doubt, poor and uninspiring leadership at present time in both Israel and the United States is a major contributing factor, but I beg it goes further. Political correctness, left wing media, and a revisionist educational system have also been contributive factors to the ambivalence and complacency of Jews in this country and in Israel as well.
In the most dastardly act of aggression; of greater scope than Pearl Harbor, the events Sept. 11 should have sustained the wrath of not only the United States, but every civilized nation in the world. Instead of rightfully whipping our nation into a sustainable frenzy for war, the President chose to prevaricate that Islam was a religion of peace. This utter nonsense belies the true nature of this insidious foe and has served no other good than to dissipate the national focus on whom the real enemy is; the Nation of Islam. From the outset of World War II until its conclusion, there was never ambiguity as to who our enemy was. The country wasn’t spoon fed disingenuous drivel such as we’re fighting “the forces of evil.” As a society we were able to focus our anger on a discernable common enemy; both Germans and Japanese and were able to bring the war to a successful conclusion. Why can’t this be done today? Why is today’s conflict referred to as, “the war against terror” rather than what it really is, “the war against Islam.” I offer, it’s a deadly combination of political correctness, aided by a left wing media, replete with Jewish apologists in this country, and liberals in Israel that either lack a true understanding of this enmity, or are willing to substitute acquiescence and surrender for peace; a peace at any price.
On this side of the ocean, putatively educated Jews have become fat cats. No longer inured to the pain and suffering of past generations of Jews in Europe and in lands of Muslim domination, post “Six Day War” American Jewry is so ensconced in a secular American life style that there really isn’t much time to understand that the Sword of Damocles is hanging over their; ‘take the kids to tap dancing,’ ‘soccer mom’ heads.’ You’ll notice, I didn’t say Hebrew School.
Whereas my parents marched to the slogan, “a Jewish state in ’48,” and both my friends and I were glued to the radio in June of ’67, most of today’s generation of Jewish kids and their “enlightened” parents would rather defer the plight of Israel and world Jewry to the Gentile world because they’re either irresolute or too consumed to read the hand writing on the wall; enter their overwhelming support for the hereto unknown Obama.
On the other side of the ocean, Israel is saddled with equally dubious leadership and a segment of her population that seems hell bent upon suicide. Not ever receiving a moment’s rest from its Muslim neighbors throughout the last century and into this one, the slanderous Olmert and even the once great Ariel Sharon seem to have forgotten the nature of the Jewish historical experience with this ancient foe. Why else in the face of broken agreements, territorial concessions, increased violence, and Islamic recalcitrant behavior would Israel push for Palestinian statehood? By what rationale design would this be in her interest? What benefit would such a State serve the interests United States? None that I can fathom. What will it take for the Olmert government and its philosophical adherents to realize that her enemy is not a traditional nation state but a religion sworn to her destruction?
The Qur’an, a book of revelations supposedly sent directly from God to the prophet Muhammad; the Hadeeth, which contains the sayings and deeds of the prophet; and the Sunnah, a compendium of how Muhammad lived his life are the pillars of Islam. Taken collectively it has also been the foundation of anti-Semitism and oppression since the seventh century. As the absolute word of God, the Koran abounds with hatred for the “disbelievers” the Jews; its debasement of the Jewish people have been ingrained and taught to generations of Muslims throughout the millennia to this very day. One only has to take the time to read readily available interpretations of this “holy book.” In his analysis of the Cairo Genezia documents, S.D Goitein makes reference to the term “anti-Semitism” in the Arab world during the high middle ages, 950-1250 CE. This seems to fly in the face of revisionist scholars, who without justification try to acquit Muslim Anti-Semitism as a recent phenomenon, due mainly to the creation of the State of Israel. Readily available historical documentation indicates otherwise.
Thirteen hundred years before the Holocaust, Jews were treated as untermenchen in Islamic conquered lands from Indonesia to Spain. Spanning the centuries, Jews throughout the Arab world were forced to pay the Jizah a special tax of tribute to a local Sultan for the privilege of living amongst the” true believers.” Every accusation, every punishment imaginable, every humiliation conceived of was meted out to those who refused to accept the “true religion.” Routinely, the Jewish community was forced to live in separate quarters throughout the Muslim world. Sound familiar? Proclaimed as the “killers of the prophet,” Jews comprised the lowest caste, known as dhimmis; they were accorded no civil rights and were subject to the Sultan and the whims of the local populace, which without provocation would often erupt into a pogrom. As a direct message from Allah, the Koran by default exists with all its blood libel against the Jewish people today as it has from the beginning.
With these referenced facts in mind, does it sound like a backdrop conducive to a modern day peace between Israel and the Muslim world? In fact, it’s a non-starter; an irreconcilable situation. For the Islamic world to recognize the State of Israel, they would first have to abrogate the very teachings of their own religion. Likewise, Judaism, and Christianity to a lesser degree, would have to be recognized as equal religions. I don’t see that happening soon.
If Israel is to continue as a viable Jewish State; the homeland of the Jewish people, she must elect leaders that totally reject this notion of a two state solution no matter how great the political pressure to do otherwise from within and out. As I’ve attempted to prove, this conflict has nothing to do with Palestinian Statehood; the Arabs could have had that several times between partition and the Camp David Accords. The true goal of Islam is what she unabashedly preaches, if anyone takes the time to listen; the total destruction of the State of Israel, and the re- subjugation of the Jewish people.
